ok. i feel like i'm the only one on this discussion board who hasn't met at least one member.
so i figured it was time to open my door and invite ya'll in for some southern hospitality.. i live in horn lake, ms which is about 35-40 minutes from memphis (depending on traffic).
so you can use that to gauge how far you are from me.
What about those almost (10 miles) wannabe Texans? But I still love my Sooner Football. HL

Alreadygone, purza said it all. My daughter was 13 in the picture I posted above. In 7th grade. I let the boy and his dad pick her up, my husband and I went out to eat, and just happened to drive by with a camera, and go in.
It was beautiful. Some of the 8th grade mothers had planned it. I took pictures, for about 15 minutes and left them all in good hands. She loves all of the pictures. And has some tacked up in her locker at school, and on her binder. I am the only mother that took pictures. You don't know how many copies I have made.
She was glad I came, but didn't stay too long. I picked them up afterwards, he gave her a peck on the cheek when he got out. I tried not to look. She was on cloud 9.
P.S. I won a 2nd place ribbon for my picture!!!!!
wouldn't it be great if the media went to this guy for quotes, rather than jesse jackson???

The official NO evacuation plan was "everyone will drive out of here
I have just spent the last hour looking for the thread, the long thread, of the New Orleans disaster policy. Someone who posted on it, please help. I read most of it. I remember thinking that if only they had followed their own policy, nobody would have died.
Thanks HL
it took me a bit of reading through some posts to realize that this site is exactly what i have been looking for, for such a long time!!
people to share my blown away realization i experienced after i quit going to the meetings and went against my mother!
it feels great to see people who have gone through and felt the same as i and who have taken the steps to change their life.
Welcome!!!!!!! We all have a story, with the same theme. We are all glad to be out. Tell us yours when you can. HL
there's a very exciting development in our little jw family.
i've kept the news close to my chest, as i wouldn't want to jinx it.
it's a great story full of drama, intrigue, a mild sunday school teacher, the internet, and a bunch freaked-out elders.
jgnat A new girl at work, talking about birthdays, asked me when mine was, I said I really don't like birthdays. (getting old) She asked me if it was a religion thing? My mouth fell open, she said her father was an elder in the town. I thought, OMG we have a JW at work!!! I started digging, she said she wasn't. Her father started studing, became a witness, mother couldn't tolerate it, and left. Father remarried when she was 16. New step-mother, a JW, wanted her gone. So dad kicked her out. She is about 26 now. Married with 2 young children.
She said she just cannot understand how a parent could do this. Same very small town, and was kicked out, and he never speaks to her, Your post
The JW's have it all backwards. ; While they try and restrain their "materialism", they are acquisitive in other areas (reaching out, paradise). ; They start from a position of spiritual poverty. ; ;The Watchtower compounds the poverty by holding out the carrot of Paradise, creating a grasping, acquisitive, greedy people. ; That's why they ;are so miserly ;holding out forgiveness ;for others. ;
I think will explain alot to her. I gave her this website, I told her if she just posted this short story, that she would have soooo many people reply that had either had this happen, or understood why it happened.
She is in the process of getting her computer udated. She will post in the near future, I am sure. In the meantine, I will give her your post. HL
back when i joined this board, mozz and i had been dating for about 9 months.

Happy anniversary. These are the stories that make up this community
I was just thinking this, but couldn't put it into words. We are a community. I would have been there, had I come to this wonderful "town", earlier. Happy Anniversary!!!!! I loved the pictures!!! I have never heard of the ribbons. Is it a Japaneese tradition? I am storing this away in my brain for my daughter. Thank you for sharing. HL
